Abbreviations for MUSICAL WORKS

List of fields Definition
Name (r) Name of composer, roman characters
Name (o) Name of composer, original script (Chinese, Japanese, Koran...)
Title (r) Title of work, Western style (if translation, in English); if the editor provides a translation, add * at the end. Example: My Title*
Title (o) Title of work, original script. A transcription in alphabet canb be added (pinyin, romaji) like this: [xxx]
Birth Y Year of birth
Birth C Country or Region of birth
Gender Female; Male; N/A: not Applicable; TBA: to be added
Dest Concert, installation, film…
MEDIA SPEC Media specification. Indicates the nature of the piece
Year Year of the premiere (only the year, not the full date)
First Performance Date and location of Premiere; Name(s) of performer(s) of the performance
Duration Duration expressed in minutes, seconds. Format: HH:MM:SS. Usually, HH is not used, so most common is MM:SS. Example: for a piece of 9 minutes 53 seconds: 9:53.
Perf. Country
or Region
Select the name of the country or region of the first performance from the pull-down menu.
Instruments
and Technology
Instruments used in the live performance. List of instruments. Fixed media, or, for live electronics, name of the software.
Production This field gives information on the realization process: it regroups several types of information: production location, periods and personnel.
Performance media Technology used to perform the piece.
Published Name of the publisher, if any.
Media (Online) Link to online media, such as Youtube, Soundcloud or the composer’s own Web site, when available.
Program Notes If available, use the original notes (in any language). Do not translate.
Awards
and Reception
Information can be in the form of links to online reviews or notices of awards.
Phono, CD Indicate if the piece is available on some off line media. If on CD, give the reference.
Comment Diverse information, such as the composer’s Web site, for instance.
